I am sure you’ve heard of all the marathon runs in Malaysia such as the recent Standard Chartered one. But have you heard of Pyramid Tower Hotel’s Atrium Café Marathon 2011? Well, you are in luck, Atrium Café is organizing a marathon for food lovers for 12 hours!

And no! Instead of a marathon run, this is a FOOD MARATHON!

You will be served with variety of dishes that are replenish during lunch and dinner! Every week is a different theme so expect different dishes every time you decide you need a food fix, marathon style!

Yup! There you go, Rm68++ for the 12 hour Marathon buffet. But heck, here’s another catch. Within that 12 hours, you are allowed to go anywhere you want and come back later for the food? So you don’t have to spend your 12hours just by eating! I’ll explain that later. But yea, you have everything in Sunway Pyramid, from movies to ice skating to outdoor theme park and of course a cozy Pyramid Hotel to freshen up after a long day! So the 12 hours buffet is something not to be missed if you and you family decides that you guys need a bonding session!

Before we get into what can be done, lets have a look at some of the dishes that are served. Being the lucky one to be selected to have a taste of the marathon, it is definitely bang for bucks looking at the variety of food served.

So with a that scrumptious food, its no wonder I gave up eating the wantan during the Wantan Challenge . It’s a challenge to eat as many wantan as possible. And here’s a surprise, this skinny dude globed all the wantan and won the challenge

After the Wantan Challenge, we were pampered with a short message session! It was my first time going for such thing. Ive never bothered to do any message and boy it was painful! Then we headed for some so called ‘retail therapy’ (shopping) lol, and head back for some makan and yes, we then were treated with a 20min GO KART RIDE courtesy of Sunway Extreme Park!

Anyway it was a fun ride but not thrilling enough as the Go-Kart is not fast. Its more like a chill ride but for those seeking for adrenaline rush, look elsewhere  

As the skies gets darker, we headed back to Atrium Café for another round of food before we headed home. Many did not stay due to weary body. It was definetly a different experience to have 12 hours of buffet marathon. I definetly make me felt so…….. full? I don’t know, but I was feeling so urgh…. thinking about it now. Made me gain weight. But the food was scrumptious. The dessert is heavenly! Love it to the max!

Hello party people in the house. I am just back from Arthur’s Day Celebration with the Black Eyed Peas. And damn it is definitely A GOOD GOOD NIGHT.

No, not by an earthquake, but by the sounds of the heart thumping drum and sleek strumming guitars accompanied by the heart melting vocals and 15,000 crazy hyped up rock fans. It all happened in Sunway Lagoon last Saturday, 15th August 2009.

When i was first informed of MTV World Stage and their line up, i thought i would be just another heartthrob concert for the girls out there as All American Rejects and Boys Like Girls will be part of the world stage.

Little did i knew, the concert was not our ordinary heartthrob thingy for the teeny wenny teenage girls, but it was rather a full out rock concert that just blew Malaysia off its feet. I think if there was a Richter scale to measure,  Sunway Lagoon’s magnitude would be 10!! (minus the wave from the pool =P)

The guys that started the fire that night was our very own rock enthusiast, ESTRANGED! Although many of us did not know their song (as usual), the crowd are already warming up with Estraged’s sets as Boys Like Girls are next to melt the girls. Estranged performed Slave In Us, Ketika Ini, Yang Pernah and In No Time.

Next was Boys Like Girls. A glimpsed of Martin jumping behind the stage was enough to make the girls go wild. Screaming at the top of their lungs, the girls sang along with the tunes of Love Drunk, Hero/Heroine, Thunder and escalating the whole thing up is The Great Escape. I wasn’t pumped at that time for some reason. Maybe it was because of the heat. We were all drenched in sweat and water as  it was raining earlier. It makes the whole place stuffy.

Raygun

Raygun then took the center stage as night falls. Being relatively unknown, i wasn’t surprise that the crowd did not interact much with that cute little lead vocal. But when Ray Gun start hymning the hits from their albums, the whole world start singing with him. This British lads do have substance in their songs. It was really catchy and the crowd sang along although many do not know the lyrics. ‘Just Because’ is a good bet.

WOT WOT? The guys turn to scream!!!! Pixie Lot made her grand entrance accompanied by the screams of the males for the first time. The 18 year old blonde certainly made all the guys present go gaga. The beautiful Lot sang Turn It Up, Boys and Girls and of course her hit single Momma Do.

Doug" Robb

After sips of 100plus, i was all hyped up for more jumping and fist pumping and it was made better by the appearance of HOOBASTANK ON STAGE!  They are the man that night! Hoobastank is LURVE! ( to me lah, to the girls of cuz All American Rejects ). Doug Robb rock the crowd that night and i can see almost everyone there is a fan of Hoobastank. They perform My Turn’, ‘The Letter’ and not after Crawling in the Dark that the crowd went wild. “I will dedicated, And sacrifice my everything”  That song just blew the place away as the sound of the guitar’s strum was enough to garner floor bumping cheers for the fans. Robb then did an short impromptu of 1970’s hit version of Ghostbusters that got the crowd singing along to it.  When Robb broke out their ever famous song,  it was just chaos in music. The whole world was in stand still. Everyone was cheering. Every single soul was anticipating for this. “I’m not a perfect person There’s many things I wish I didn’t do….”  They are the band for the night i must say! All their songs got the crowd singing with them and that was just as close as heaven for me. I love you Hoobastank! The only bummer is they did not sing Disappear, Running Away and If I Were You

When i heard screams and cheers for the girls around me, immediately i know that All American Rejects is performing next. YES! ALL AMERICAN REJECTS. Although I like AAR, i only like the first two albums. The first album was the best! With hits such as Swing Swing Swing, My Paperheart and Time Stand Still, what could be better than their latest album? And FYI most AAR fans don’t even know the songs from their first album.. LOL! They sank the girls’ heart with ‘Dirty Little Secret’.  ‘I Wanna’, ‘The Real World’, and ‘Gives You Hell’.

MTV World Stage is the first concert that brought Kasabian to South East Asia. Too bad, we did not catch their performance as all of us are already tired. Yeah all of US. Speaking of us…

According to MTV, this is the largest live popular music event in Malaysia. And being part of it is so so so wonderful. Whats better, we are the mosh pitters which means we might be appearing on TV! Woots. MTV World Stage Live In Malaysia will be broadcast on a total of 44 different MTV channels in over 150 territories to a potential audience of over 600 million households.  It marks MTV’s first originally produced event airing as part of the franchise and its global premiere is scheduled for Friday, September 11.

Yes, I agree this is the best concert ive been. 6 acts on 1 stage. Can you ask more? YOU ROCK MTV ASIA!
