Maroon 5 Live in Kuala Lumpur!

May 3rd, 2011, posted in Advertorials, Events, Music, Review, Shennanigans

Girls, any of you thinks that Adam Levine is hot? Sadly my baby think so! Thanks to Maxis and Ogilvy Malaysia, I now have to be just like any other guy, feeling jealous over the lead singer of Maroon 5.IMG_2601 - Copy

Held at Stadium Putra Bukit Jalil, it was a performance of a class. They did awesomely well on all of their sets. Although I must admit, the atmosphere wasn’t that great due to to low crowd turn out, but I did enjoy myself humming to all their chart topping singles.

Having the Zone B free standing ticket, which was situated near the control deck, it was quite far from the stage. I wished I got the mosh pit. It was fun over there! Nevertheless, at least nobody is pushing and shoving around in Zone B.

As usual, like every rock concert, Maroon 5 went back in and came out 5 min later for an Encore set. They did Hands All Over, Makes Me Wonder and Sunday Morning before wrapping up their set in Malaysia. It was an awesome performance by Maroon 5.

Having to stand halfway from the stage, it was a lil difficult to capture any photo or video. But I still did my best and here are some of the photo + videos that night. (:

Adam Levine really did serenade the crowd that night. Girls were screaming (although not that loud like Justin Bieber’s concert") but they are a class in their own league.

This year,Malaysia is truly blessed with tons of concert. I just missed Switchfoot on Sunday but hell no I wont miss Incubus this July. I bet it would be a great concert.

Here are some videos I put together. (: Enjoy guys. Just like I did.

Motorola Xoom WIFI launch ( Psst. You get a free DEFY!)

May 1st, 2011, posted in Advertorials, Phone review, Random rants, Review, Shennanigans

The world first honeycomb tablet has finally arrived as Maxis brings you the Motorola Xoom. The tablet won the best tablet during CES 2011 and that award itself is enough to tell you about this gorgeous tablet.

Motorola has been dead for the past 10 years ( I am a fan of Motorola’s dumbphone!! ) until Android came about. Even then, Milestone, Droid, Defy prove to us nothing much as we explore the other more cool Android devices.

But this time around, Motorola went ahead of its competitor to launch the first ever tablet with Honeycomb preinstalled.

It spots a 10.1 inch HD display, Nvidia Tegra dual core processor and 1gb RAM. Enough to make you fly while on the move.

I was at the launch to witness Motorola Xoom being unveiled first time for the Malaysian Market. Distributed by Brightstar, and sold by Maxis, this tablet will promise you fun, work and play all in one.

Even better, Maxis is offering a free Motorola Defy to accompany the Xoom because the Xoom model that was launched is the WIFI only version. To make up to that, the defy is running Android 2.2 which has a built in portable hotspot to tether internet to the Xoom

It was a bit of a bummer because the Xoom comes with a 3G version as well but according to Motorola’s representative, the “3G version was just launch in the US and they have no plans to bring it here just yet”.

I think its really a shame because I don’t want to be lunging around a Defy when I have my Galaxy S and Motorola Milestone that can tether wifi too! But for those of you who do not have an Android phone and needs a tablet badly, this offer is one bad ass. You must be crazy to miss it.

The offer starts from 6th of May to 22nd May for only 2499. Yup, a Xoom + Defy for only Rm2499. To me it’s a good deal if you don’t have an Android phone yet. But to those who have, nah skip this and wait for the 3G version.

Maxis is also unsure what will happen after the 22nd, but they say the price will stay the same but the offer will change according to the reception of the phone’s sale. Its like “See how first lah” kinda approach.

Look who I spotted, the Motorola Xoom’s UI expert : @WalauWei. hahaIMG_20110428_152217

With Nvidia Tegra dual core processor, you can play games with stunning graphics with no lag at all. You can even download Nvidia Tegra optimized games to enjoy the fullest potential of this beast. So far ive only seen Samurai THD being optimized for the Xoom.

The Motorola Xoom’s 10.1 inch display. Yes the Xoom supposed to be held this way. What a model. Smile with tongue out haha

Rm2499

Ps: If that kinda cash just bogs your mind, consider Xoom’s cheaper siblings. The Asus Eee Pad Transformer or Viewsonic GTable. They are sold around RM900 to RM1400. Just note the difference : Motorola is a US brand while Viewsonic and Asus is Taiwanese.

NEXUS S LAUNCH

March 21st, 2011, posted in Phone review, Random rants, Review, Shennanigans

Fiona called me up the other day to attend the Nexus S launch by Maxis. As an Android phone,

of course I’ll say yes to that.  Held at Pavilion KL, I was eager to see the new developers phone by Google.

As usual, they were promoting other Samsung made phones such as the Tab,Galaxy S, Galaxy 3 and etc.

Owning Galaxy S for a while and having the worst experience ever with a phone, I was a little skeptical on the Nexus S.

Well, you know, Galaxy S owner, how we suffer from lag and etc. Its only fix-able via custom firmware and

etc.

IMG_9851

True enough, the Nexus S was a performance beast but yet again ( as usual ) marred by poor body material selection

: CHEAP FLIMSY PLASTIC. I don’t know whats with Korean, but every product they have feels cheap as the favour

plastic over something solid. IMG_9859

Well outlook wise, it doesn’t impressed me at all. The feel is just not there. Galaxy S seems to be better at that.

Not to mentioned, the buttons are the typical 4 button standard android have. I prefer the Galaxy S –

Iphone look alike home button. More elegant.

The responsiveness from this phone is quite good. I bet Samsung ditch their crappy RFS system altogether.

The only thing stays sucky is the linkpack scores. Its not a good benchmark test, but still it does tell a bit about the phone.

13.596 mflop? My Motorola Milestone marks 13.5 at 600mhz and 17.5 at 1.2ghz. This seriously phail. To be honest,

Nexus One is even better. At least Google did bother to optimize Froyo for SnapDragon processor to boost the MFlops.

Anyway in terms of entertainment, the phone has an inbuilt flash supports and a rather good graphic card. Enough power

to play online craps while multitasking such as listening to music. The graphic card and in built flash support makes the phone

really responsive while playing such heavy tasker game. My Galaxy S definitely fail on that part.

Anyway, I wasn’t given much time to test this phone out. Anyone willing to loan it to me?? Haha. I wanna try this beast out and compare

it with Samsung’s other crap : Galaxy S. lol
