Yesterday was Fast for the Nation in conjunction with Malaysia Day. Well, i bet you guys here don’t know what it is, right? ( talk about being patriotic) Malaysia Day is the day where Sabah and Sarawak joined Malaya and form a country that we call today, Malaysia.
Together with the Muslims and other few non-Muslims friends, we fasted for the day, all because we believe in Unity and Peace among our brothers and sisters of Malaysia. The believe that we should reject all forms of violence and discrimination amongst ourselves and be united under the umbrella of 1Malaysia.
It was my first time fasting yesterday, ya know? I’ve never fast in my life, not that i am aware of. But I’ve fasted once unintentionally. But that was because the night before i ate Arabian food. The portion was damn huge that the next day i did not eat my breakfast and lunch. I only ate my dinner at 7.30. And that was a few weeks ago when the Ramadan month just started.
Ok here here, back to the fasting thingy. So yeah, i woke up at around 12.30 pm and i went to the kitchen and damn i saw two packets of Char Keow Teow. The aroma was damn inviting but like i said, i was fasting. So i decided to keep my self occupied with a lot of stuff. I was on the comp twittering, msn-ing, chatting on the phone, listening to music, drawing and I went out of the house to take some photos.
I wasnt that hungry but its just, you know, temptations of food. Oh yeah by the way, FYI, i did not sahur in the morning. How bout that? =P At around 5pm, i went to Cempaka LRT station to meet Shaz. While waiting for him i was feeling very very dizzy. I dont know why, but i cant seem to stand straight.
Guess what, after Shaz picked me up, we went for GYM! Luckily by the time we reached the gym, its 7.30 already. But we decided not to buka yet, just a light snack. And when i start doing the cardio, i began to feel very very dizzy again. I guess it’s because I’ve not eat for the whole day.
After Gym, we went to have MCD’s with Jeff and Gary and then head to G-Force Movie Screening. But lets keep that for another day.
I cant believe i made it through the day, fasting! I did not even buka puasa. Well, as usual i dont get any moral support from anyone especially on twitter except for Niki and Kruel. The rest dont seem to understand the reason behind this. Most of the remarks were rather demoralizing like ‘How Patriotic Can You Be?” or “Why torture yourself” and etc etc. I wont blame them as they are not the ones who really and truly care and bother about the country. It’s not their fault really, it’s the way the were brought up + the politicians shit ass.
But for the rest who understood the meaning behind this “Fast for Nation” thingy and Malaysia Day, lets us hope for a better future for our country. Lets us hope that peace will be restored and there will not be any discrimination towards other races and always be united as Malaysians inline with 1Malaysia idea mooted by our beloved Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak. After all, who would love our country if not us?
