Our Local Entertainment Industry is Bound to DOOOOM like GM ( general motors )

June 2nd, 2009, posted in Movie, Music, Random rants, Shennanigans

Scene 1

Radio DJ: Next up is Pop Shuvit with MaraBahaya only on Hitz.
Typical Malaysian: GAH! Not again, local shit. *Switches radio station*

Scene 2

Me: Eh, wanna watch Los dan Faun.
Her: Lost dan what?! What movie is that?
Me: Los dan Faun la. Local movie.
Her: Local movie?!!! No thanks. puhlezz. Local movie is shit.

After observing the local entertainment industry for years, i have finally came into conclusion, our local entertainment industry including music and movie scene is not going to progress. Not even a little. Our local entertainment industry will be as it is now and will not progress further, if not die off.

It has been 50 years since we’ve achieve our independence but our people will never ever support the local boys trying their luck. No matter what you do, all they (typical Malaysian) ever think is, local stuff just suck. I remember on many occasion people just brush me off whenever i introduce a new Malaysian film or music. Often it also includes harsh remarks with their “constructive criticisms ”.

First of all, i agree that our stuff, our local boys work are not up to par with the likes of Hollywood stars or Lady Gaga but its not their fault, you know. Who are to be blame? Of course the consumer itself, the people and THE CITIZEN OF MALAYSIA. The people who recites the 5 ‘Rukun Negara’, the people who sang ‘Negaraku’, the people who owns a MYKAD and live in Malaysia. WHY, you ask? SIMPLE! When you people do not support them, how are they getting funds to produce something out of the ordinary? Do you think by praying to God, “ALLAH GRANT ME A STUDIO”, the studio will just drop for the sky?!

Just take a look at CicakMan. Why the heck the CGI just suck? Why does KRU production use a shitty CGI to do a ala Hollywood film that looks like a low budget film? SIMPLE. It doesn’t take rocket science to figure it out that these production lack of the “omph” factor due to the fact that THEY SIMPLY DO NOT HAVE THE BUDGET!

Cicakman’s CGI is not up to par.

What?! You think Yusry Kru of KRU Productions love to make such shitty film? You think he doesn’t want his film to be the likes of Spiderman and etc? It simply because he just don’t have the kind of cash to incorporate such high end effect. And what do you consumer say?

‘OWH MAN THAT LOCAL MOVIE JUST SUCK!’

I wonder, have you guys actually sit down and reflect upon your hypocrite attitude and understand the suffering and struggles of local movie and music producer? Have you ever thought of why their works just don’t somehow entertain people instead of blaming the actor/actress lacks of acting skills?

Its the same thing as Proton. Why do you think Proton make such shitty car? NOT ENOUGH FUND!  -ok this is a random point xD -

Who in the world don’t want to make a world class product/artwork when the only thing holding them back is THE SUPPORT OF ITS OWN PEOPLE to fund their artwork. The support of the local is vital in letting these new young talent to create a better artwork. By supporting them, you are actually providing them funds to support their works and who knows they can even make a better music/movie from the likes of their Western counterpart.

I think its time for you people to brush off the mentality of “Nothing is Good in Malaysia”. Now, although with limited funds, some people goes to the extend of  using their own savings to actually produce movie and music and their works turn out brilliant.

Look at Sepet, Gubra and Mukshin produce by Yasmin Ahmad. WHO DARE TO SAY THAT THOSE MOVIE SUCK? And before you guys starts saying ME ME ME, these movies won awards @ International Film Festival. So yeah, criticize all you want. At the end of the day you made yourself look like a fool because even westerners recognize their works but the locals think this is bullshit.

Sepet is one of the most successful Malaysian film

Look also at Sell Out, the movie. Sell out also won multiple award at International Film Festival but i do see many people especially in the blogosphere complains that the movie is not entertaining and BORING. I wonder what is nice for you. Perhaps a 5 star porno with Afdlin Shauki butt fucking Erra Fazira on the street? That’s entertainment for you, huh?! You love AV Movie dont you?!

On music industry, do you know that sales of our local boy’s album is much better overseas than Malaysia? Even other citizen support our local boy but not you.

During the recent Hennessy Artistry @ The Loft, Caprice performed and guess what, almost HALF OF THE CROWD barely know him when he is already FAMOUS INTERNATIONALLY with his latest debut single FANTSAY GIRL. Now who are to be blame but the citizen’s of Malaysia? I am sure you guys often watch Youtube, but why in the world you guys do not know who Caprice is? After all his latest single is made popular in YOUTUBE for heaven’s sake. =_=’ His single also receive mass airplay on the radio FYI. But i bet you guys don’t notice because whenever  his single is played, and the world LOCAL was blurted out by the DJ, you switch channel. =) Right? Don’t deny it, you hypocrite ass.

YOU ARE KILLING YOUR OWN PEOPLE! YOU YOU AND YES YOU! Our country will remain as a country with First Class Infrastructure with 3rd World Mentality with the presence of you guys. TSK TSK TSK. Well, our toilet itself explains it all. =)

GOD SAVE MALASYIA.

————————————————————————————————————

After much consideration to actually made our local boys known to the public, I’ve decided every now and then, i will give out free full album of local artist and local movies to promote them. NO I AM NOT SUPPORTING PRIVACY, I am just promoting them so that you guys are made to know of their presence.

And yes, if you guys like them, delete the downloaded album and BUY the ORIGINAL album.

After all, whether i am giving it out or not, you guys are not buying the original album right? So why not give it out for free and maybe when you guys shows some remorse and a little sympathy, you will get the original album, at least they can earn a few cent from there.

Of course i know some local band suck, so i am only giving out album which i think would be of your likings. I just hope you guys will be more aware of their presence and support them man… Just support them.

Caprice brought the house down – Hennessy Artistry Review part 2.

Yes as the title explain, this 21 year old R&B kid certainly brought the roof down @ Upstairs, The Loft.

FYI I am a loyal local act supporter and i am his number 1 fan. When he releases his first single, Dem Girlz I instantly fall in love with him. Damn it, you rock Caprice.

He mesmerized the crowd with his latest hit single Fantasy Girl, the remix of Akon’s NaNa and of course his all time fan favorite Dem Girlz.

*I dont know who is this, perhaps his back up singer? Enlighten me if you happen to know*

*that guy’s jaw dropped when he saw this hot backup dancer*

*this backup dancer certainly can dance. Lurve him*

*Hennessy Artistry – Note the VIP AEA :P *

Overall, this is my first time i am at Hennessy Artistry so i don’t really know how it is suppose to be like. But overall the whole thing was ok. It was dull because they stop the booze at 11.30 which dampen our spirit. Urgh. But i enjoy every moment of it from Caprice to Starz Angel.

Starz Angel keep playing techno and trance which is quite a turn of if it is repeating for the last 3 hours. They should add a lil R&B twist.

But again, this event is a success. It definitely allow me to meet Caprice yo.

Thanks Nuffnang for the invites. Like i said, I proud to serve you.

Kudos to Hennessy!

Cant wait for the big one in June! YAY!
