FANTABULOUS!!!

That is how i would describe the latest movie produced by the  director of Independence Day, Roland Emmerich.

I was one of the lucky few to be able to catch the press screening of 2012 at MV, 2 days earlier before it was schedule to be released worldwide,  thanks to CopyKate and Columbia Tristar.

Although the screening was at 10am, the hall was really packed today. Not surprised considering the hype associated with end of the world = 2012. I was there with my close friend.

So, what is 2012 all about?

The whole idea of this movie is to exploit the idea of doomsday of earth that happens on December 21st 2012, which is also the last day of Mayan Long Count Calendar.

The movie start with signs of the destruction of earth that is beginning to happen. From the unstablelysing of the earth crust, to massive temperature rise and crack appearing all over the world during 2009 to 2011.

When the year is 2012, scientist begins to discover that the the world is going to end sooner that they had thought. And with little time left, government all around the world had joined force to preserve the future generation of man kind. With arks that are designed to withstand impact and to accommodate people so that they can continue the new generation of humanity, they have little or no time left before a huge tsunami will submerge every continent.

Expect a lot of nail biting events, especially scenes where Jackson and his ex wife, her boyfriend and his kids were running for their life as the earth splits into two. Every part of this movie is perfect. The CGI looks really realistic, not to mention the sound effects and the disaster that were created to portray the end of the world.

I really love this movie because not only it sends a strong message to us to love our earth, it also portrays compassion that exists in human during dire needs. How from Adrian Helmsley, the scientific advisor to the President;  the President of United States to his daughter, they portray what Humanity is all about. What is it like to preserve humanity and continue its legacy for the future generation.

This movie is seriously a MUST WATCH movie of 2009! If you missed the movie, please kill yourself. =p

The director seriously did a good job in producing this film. With no doubts, i give this movie a rating of

8.5/10.

p.s: 1.5 is for the predictable plot at certain part of the movie. Other than that, its great!
