I just started twitting a few weeks back and I realize that my followers have been very very little. That keep me wondering why does my followers never increase although i tagged people who has twitter at their blogs.

I thought of giving up twitter as it doesn’t drive traffic to my blog from it. Until recently I’ve stumble upon a site, myblog2day.com which gave me a very very useful tips on how to increase people following you. Man, as soon as i followed his tips, i have 10 people following me in less than half and hour.

Here is what you should do. Add all of these people.

Once you’ve added these people, you will gain followers in less than 24 hours. Followers are guarantee to follow you once you added them. I have already more than 15 followers. Before this, i have only 5 followers for 2 weeks and i added 10 followers in just 1 hour. Isn’t that effective? =)

The question is how does that followers actually follow what you update and keep on track with what you wrote? How does the followers increase your traffic in your blog? Most people just follow you to get followers. Like what i just did. Other than that, people couldn’t be bothered with what you updated.

Research shown that most people who sign up for twitter, just practice the touch n’ go method where users just sign up and leave that site. This is the main concern for the guys @ twitter as they could not retain its users. According to wtop.com, most users just sign up and never came back but other social sites such as facebook and myspace tend to retain their users up to 60%.

I was one of them. My twitter account was actually set up month and months ago. But i never use it until 2 weeks ago in order to increase my blog traffic to overseas users.

Although twitter has been up for 3 years, the user who retained using it has been dropping at a quicker pace than other social networking sites. Well, this turnover was a result of new micro blogging sites blooming like mushroom in the cyber world. Many new sites emerge and attract users who are getting bored with twitter. Well you cant blame people from switching service. After all the twitters has tons and tons of bugs.

Bugs in twitter has been a total turn off for users as many service that offered in twitter cannot be fully utilize. For example, the twitter widget which do not allow users to sign in. The widget will show a message “ This method requires GET” and etc. Such bug will just turn users away from twitter to other new blooming services such as plurk.

A high turnover will bring twitter down to its knees it a few years time. Although twitter had increased my blog traffic, it only increase it by 20% and retained the traffic at that point. This made me think of switching my service to plurk or the likes. Isnt this a turnover? Oh twitter is soon gonna lose one of its user, ME!!!!!!!          Like what they say
