The newly anticipated movie about man’s first step on moon named Apollo 18 is coming to the silver screen near you and Hydraskin, being the proud sponsor had made an awesome limited edition laptop skin just for the fans!

I heard that there’s only 150 piece in this world! I was one of the lucky few to get it.

IMG_6588IMG_6589IMG_6594

Yup! It comes with a palm rest sticker as well. Its also water and scratch resistant! And best of all, you can always reuse like its new! (:

IMG_6585

What I love about this DIY laptop skin is that its DIY! Yup! This skin fits 13,14,15 inch laptops! (: How you ask? Its actually a 15inch laptop skin but has grids at the back of it to help you measure your computer’s size!

IMG_6584

Then you can proceed to measure, mark and cut and apply it. ALL BY YOURSELF. (:

IMG_6595

So how to apply you ask? First measure the size of your laptop screen with the skin. Then gently bent the sides to match the screen size to create a mark on the it. !

IMG_6602

IMG_6605

After creating the mark, flip over and then use a ruler to draw a line along the grid to cut it.

IMG_6620

After cutting to the desired size, then gently peel of the sticker from the grid and apply smoothly to your laptop. Avoid any bubbles and gently wipe the surface of the laptop if bubbles exist.

IMG_6624IMG_6625IMG_6626IMG_6627IMG_6628IMG_6632IMG_6634

AND…. TADAH!! You are done! You have the limited edition sticker on a macbook pro!

IMG_6635

HEY WAIT! WHAT ABOUT THE APPLE LOGO? Hows it gonna light up? Everyone wants the apple logo, no?

IMG_6639

YEAH.. SEE THAT? It still lights up alright! And its even prettier like that! Yay for Steve Job! Wait.. its Tim Cook right? lol

IMG_6653

Here’s the palm rest. And don’t worry, touchpad still works with the decal on it. Yup so basically you are done! Now you can bring the macbook to the moon! Like they say That’s one small step for [a] man, one giant leap for Macbook pro!

Be sure to catch Apollo 18 when its out September 8! Its Man vs Moon! (:

Vin’s Restaurant TTDI Food Review

August 7th, 2011, posted in Advertorials, Food, Random rants, Review, Shennanigans

Its been a while since I was invited to a food review session. I was being cordially invited to Vins, TTDI to sample their fine dishes.

Once seated, I was pleasantly greeted and served with a glass of water. The waiters were rather friendly and helpful and their first impression just gave it away.

IMG_6036

The chef greeted us and suggested a few dishes for us to have as a starters. IMG_6047

We started of with Smoked Salmon Bruschetta – (RM21) – Served with caper-flavored pesto.

As a smoked salmon fan, I can say that its was prepared to perfection. Its what I expect from a salmon bruschetta. 2 thumbs up for this.

IMG_6049

We then had Sautéed Mushrooms – (RM16.90) – Sautéed button and king oyster mushrooms flavored with herbs on crusty bread topped with parmesan.

I also love mushroom so I might be biased here. But heck, its awesome. (:

Here are the pictures of the Starters served.

Crumbed Scallops – RM18.90
Pan fried breaded scallops dips with mayo.

Brandy Prawn – RM18.50
Sauteed fresh shrimp served on crusty bread and tossed with Spanish dressing and brandy sauce. Tasted good!

The scallop which is the last picture taste quite ok, bud wise but the brandy prawn feels fresh although you might find a little wee bit hard to find the brandy taste in it. Smile with tongue out

Next they served us

Vin’s Chicken Nachos – RM26.90
Very appetizing as it was served with shredded chicken topped with crisp nachos, salsa and cheese.

It tasted alright. Not what I expect from nachos, plus I don’t usually see people serve nachos like this. But taste wise, its edible. (:

Last starters we had. I know I know, these starters made us full even before the main dishes arrived!

Spicy Lamb Masala – RM18.90
An authentic Indian favorite , slow-cooked in an earthen pot and served with crusty bread.

I love lamb. And lamb curry. So this is to die for. I am bit biased here course I can eat spicy food and lamb is my favorite. But trust me, it really taste that good.

Now for the main dish. Right, I was full by then. But I forced myself to eat. After all, what are food tasting if you are not gonna try everything right?

Salmon Cream – RM28.90
Juicy grilled salmon cooked in a basil cream served on pasta.

I love the fuse of salmon + spaghetti in it. The cream sauce just add more flavor to it.

Spicy Lamb Bolognaise – RM26.90
It’s a fusion lamb dish made in a spicy bolognaise sause and flavored with fresh herbs and wild mushrooms.

Now this is odd right? Lamb bolognaise. I didn’t get to try this but as said by Jason Ong, it’s a must try. I am a fan of lamb but have never had a bolognaise made out of lamb. LOL

VIN’s Rack of lamb – RM54
Imported freched juicy tender lamb served with fresh sauteed potatoes and a garden salad. Simple melts in your mouth.

Damn, this imported lamb really is tender and juicy. Has no after taste, no smell or whatsoever. Just pure perfection. Was well done just as I like it.

The Black Angus - RM54
Air flown U.S grain fed ribeye steak grilled to your choice of doneness, served with potato salad, accompanied by salad and rich think gravy.

They say it’s the highlight dish of the night. I think it’s the best dish in the house. The steak in done medium rare. Despite that, it does not have the after taste I always experience with medium rare steak. Maybe I am the odd one. But heck, I hate the blood taste that usually present in medium rare steak. So I guess Ill give 10 thumbs up for this!

This is how the steak looks like. It doesn’t really look appetizing here, but trust me, it is. I am very picky of my steak, and this one won me over. (:

Overall, Vins has most of their food right although certain ones defintely needs improvement. Nevertheless, the waiters are really friendly and helpful, which is a plus point as it just make you fell good. The environment could be described as romantically cosy but at the same time makes you feel like home. Nothing really fancy on their deco, but its quite ok to bring your date for a dine.

Food : 7.5/10

Service : 9/10

Environment : 7/10

Overall : 8/10

HP Hit Print first roadshow was held at my University, UCTI! They were there to promote their latest lineup of printer, the HP Deskjet Ink Advantage and their Photosmart wireless AIO printer. IMG_5928

Many students were rather curious on what this printer can do to them. Most of them are blown off when we told we can print documents wirelessly through your wireless network or even by sending an email!

IMG_6015

Both printer has its on advantage to suit the students need. The Ink Advantage allows student who’s on a budget to really strap their wallet to the max as that printer could make all your money that was spent on the ink cartridge, worthwhile!

Apart from that, the Photosmart Wireless AIO is for those with a higher budget and enjoys the ability to print wirelessly and hassle free especially when you are rushing for your assignments. IMG_5953IMG_5944

During the roadshow, students were also allowed to purchase the printer for RM1, but only if you win the game through the contest. Yep, RM1 people!

IMG_6002

The students need to use their phone to email the printer whatever that is on the whiteboard and the fastest student to email and get printed out, wins!

IMG_6007

So here’s the winner. She manage to get it print the fastest! IMG_6010

IMG_6012

Besides this contest, there is a facebook contest where students are supposed  to ask their friends to like their picture that was captured on the day itself. The most like will win the prize. These are some of the faces who join the contest

IMG_5997

The prizes range from the printer, IPad and smartphones. I had my opportunity to enjoy the roadshow as much as these people did. The won the prizes unfortunately, but heck I am joining their facebook contest page!
