Back to Toy’s Story. :) Media Screening babeh! Toy Story as usual revolves around Andy, his room and the other toys that has been with him since he was small. The story gets better and better and each installment and the third installment wraps things up for Toy Story to be the best movie cartoon ever made. It has the best storyline, nice cinematography, nice animation and best of all, the nostalgic feeling.. damn.. reminds me of the good ol’ days.

Director, Lee Unkrich, did a great job in the storyline. It just snubs out the plain ol’ boring predictable storyline and replace it with something unpredictable yet entertaining at the same time. It got me glued to my seat the whole 1hour30min constantly laughing and feeling like a baby! HAHAH, there are part which almost made me tear but no IM NOT GONNA CRY IN A CINEMA full of medias. LOL.

The story as you guys know revolves around Andy, Buzz, Woddy and the other toys. But what makes this installment special is the other new character and HUMOUR that was introduced into this movie. Andy is departing for college and well, he is NOT giving away his toys but as usual, the story goes on with misunderstanding between him and his mum, and the toys ended up somewhere where the kids do not know how to appreciate toys. Together, the toys plan a great escape to be reunited with Andy!

Catch the latest installment of Toy Story and bring back ol’ memories of your childhood. The best cartoon movie ever made ( Ok la im biassed abit cuz this is the first ever movie I’ve watched.) But no, seriously this is good. Head over to your local screen and prepare to Laugh, Cry and be a baby for 1 hour! Definitely worth the money!

I rate in the scale of 1 to 10, this movie goes Infinity and Beyond!

Nightmare in Elm Street

1, 2 Freddy’s Coming For You

Creepy much?? Yep, that’s what you get from the aftermath of watching the remake of the 1984 horror flick, Nightmare in Elm Street. Well like the original movie itself, this movie also focuses on the a teenage girl named Nancy who discovers that her friends are slowly dying in their dreams. The story unfold as how she discovers that the person behind all of their death is none other then Freddy Krueger.

To be very honest i have never watched the original movie and thus I have no expectation on this movie. I don’t know what to expect and i don’t know what is this movie all about. Well despite being clueless about all these and etc, heck, IMHO this movie was good.

The director manage to bring out the goriness and creepiness in this movie through CGI effects that just nail it right. For example when Nancy was lying on the bed and was thrown up and about, turning 360 degree, it was creepy enough to get everyone griping their seats tightly. The worst part is the ending part where it gave me goose bumps.

As for how the movie is to me, i felt it is a horror flick worth watching. The storyline has a twist in it and well… the gory part is really gory. <3 it. The only major drawback was some of the supporting actor/actress were rather static and do not portray their character very well. I would rather see if they would show their fear of dying as much as the main character portrayed it throughout the movie

I think if i go on more and more about the movie, somehow or rather ill just leak spoilers that will be a major turn off to you guys. So why don’t, you guys head down to the silver screen near you and just watch this movie. I guarantee that you will be satisfied with it especially those who love awesome gruesome murder! LOL.

Muallaf Screening.

January 1st, 2010, posted in Movie, Random rants, Shennanigans

Woots. A few weeks back, thanks to AMBP, i manage to catch the Malaysia premier of Muallaf. Well, it was supposedly released a years ago, but thanks to our ever efficient Censorship Board and ‘Moral Police’, it was released everywhere else but here.

It took them a year and a death before they released this movie for us, Malaysians. And even that, there are a lot of cut scenes and censored speech. TSK TSK.

But whatever it is, this movie is a must watch movie. I personally think its one of the best movie ever made by the storyteller, Allahyarham Yasmin.

This movie speaks on religion and how 3 souls are trying to find solace in their heart. Muallaf means ‘The Convert’ but it was never intended to be of anything as of the title. This movie speaks of a guy named, Brian who is a Catholic and was humiliated by his father, who was a strict Catholic during his childhood times. The way he was brought up caused him to lose faith in God, and acted unruly to his mother. Until he met the 2 sisters, where he began to develop interest in Islam. The 2 sisters, Rohani and Rohana ran away from home due to their evil father. Both of them often reads religious book and recites verses daily.

This movie may be overall serious as it speaks on religion, identity, fanatics but like how Yasmin does best, she manage to slip in a few humorous part that kept viewers entertain during boring scene. Overall, this movie is odd to be watch. After what Yasmin had been through, especially the Moral Teachers at the Censorship Board, i personally think all of us Malaysians should at least watched it as this is the last movie Malaysia will ever watch from Yasmin Ahmad.

We had lost a great storyteller, a creative producer and most of all, we had the lost the true 1Malaysia spirit. She is a true Malaysian. *applauds*

Rest In Peace, Yasmin. =)
