Rants?

May 26th, 2010, posted in Events, Food, Random rants, Shennanigans

I know right, my blog is getting lesser and lesser of my personal life despite me saying that more of it will come. Cant blame me lah, i seriously don’t even have time to blog about things i am asked to, what more about myself?

I promised to blog about my Langkawi trip but until now its no where to be seen. Sigh. You know what, how bout i just give a brief update on what’s going on with me and of course I’ll just put some teaser shots of moarrr personal post that are coming soon. Well coming soon is not anywhere now. haha.

You see, i #phailed my maths and did badly in my last semester. This semester is my finals and i cant afford to fail anymore. I don’t want to get anything lesser than a distinction in my Diploma’s cert. Omgod. I now have extra class every Monday and Wednesday night. That lecturer is tutoring me on my Maths and some programming language. Seriously Nigel, You fucking need to buck up.

Parents are really disappointed at me. Well, heck i am disappointed at myself too. Should have been more responsible and attend class more often instead of skipping it. Oh wells.

OH GUESS WHAT?! I am moving to motion instead of still photos. The only thing holding me back now is EDITING. I hate that part the most. I’ve been trying to edit 3 freaking videos and none of it is even half done. Really, video gurus, help me. =(

Ok that was Jamie and I at Freedom 360 in JB. 2 Post below this. Of course that’s not the main highlight! The main highlight is the FOOD HUNT that we went after the event. JB,MUAR,MELAKA!

Awesome can! Wait up for the glutton post!!! The next Freedom at Penang i AM GOING DOWN for the food! My hometown yo! =-)

And so there, I’ve spilled most of my stuff. Maybe not those personal ones but yea….. xOxO lol!

Best of Indies & Hip Hop Compilation CD Review

The title itself had got me very eager to pop the CD into the player, what more having to listen to the CD. This latest compilation CD by Sony Music Malaysia features the best in the industry from two different genre, Indies and Hip Hop.

1. Isabella – Joe Flizzow feat Amy Search
2. Oh Sizuka – Pop Shuvit
3. Cinta Gila – Grey Sky Morning
4. Aurora – Estranged
5. Mimpi – Altimet feat Ning Baizura
6. Ayoh Joget – Kraft
7. Si Murai Penipu – Stonebay
8. X-Ray – Nabila Huda
9. Aku Pelangi – Joanna & Co
10. Gadis Gedung Atasan – Brainhead
11. Biar Mati Chinta Ini – Maximus
12. Tentang Kita – Couple
13. Cuma Dia -Sonar
14. Osaka – Disagree
15. Diamonds – Kraft
16. Do It Duit – Joe Flizzow feat PhlowtronIMG_1969

To be very honest, i find the Indie tracks that were included in this album are below par compared to the Hip Hop tracks. It might be just me, but seriously hotter and way popular tracks from Couple, Estranged should be in. I have no complains for the Hip Hop tracks though.

Another thing to note is that the first track, Isabella is really a turn off to most people. Well the main important reason on why people got turn off by Malaysian music are the Rock Kapak style of music made popular by Search, Wings and etc. Making the track hip hop-ish would not help either. I’ve pop the CD into my player while my friends are around and when the first track played, the first thing they did was to complain. Just my 2cent.

Pop Shuvit - Oh! Sizuka[1]

Pop Shuvit is one of the ‘attraction’ to the album.

All the Hip Hop track such as Diamonds and Ayuh Joget by Kraft, Do it Duit by Joe Flizzow, Mimpi – Altimet are the bomb! I really enjoyed listening to all of it especially Diamonds. I was hoping more hip hop tracks to be included to balanced with the Indie track though. Maybe in the next compilation.

For the Indie part, aside from what I’ve mentioned above, the remaining tracks hit the sweet spot. If you were to realized, most indie bands that are in the CD are uprising stars. Notably Joanna and Co, Maximus, Nabila Huda and Stonebay. All of these uprising indie stars are making waves in our local music industry and best of all, their songs are worth listening. You’ve got my words.

There are only two English song in the album, Osaka by Disagree and Diamonds by Kraft. I really wish in the next album more English songs are included too as it will reach out to a wider target market.

This album is a must buy for local indie and hip hop music lovers! Some songs might be a lil’ ‘outdated’ but nevertheless the indie track of upcoming rising stars are worth listening. If you are a hip hop lover, all the tracks will appeal to you as the beats dropped are done by Maestros! Flizzow, Altimet, Kraft. Its a bliss. Worth the bucks. So what are you waiting for, head down to your nearest record store and grab your copy for only Rm31.90

My Verdict: 3.5/5

Fuzzy Feeling Factor : Fuzzy to my spine!!! :)

Fuzzy Feel Rating : Next please |  I feel tinges | Fuzzy to my Spine | Outta this world
