    FLY FM FLYNIVERSARRY!

November 27th, 2009, posted in Events

Thanks to Mynjayz a.k.a Jason, i manage to grab a Media Pass for FLY FM FLYNIVERSARRY! It was awesome to have the privilege to be backstage with the artist. As i have to leave early i only manage to get a few pic. But thankfully i have a pic with my fave rocker, FAIZAL TAHIR!

Let the pics do the talking!

    IMG_1182 Yuna lulabying. lol

    IMG_1185

Coincidently, that day was Yuna’s birthday, so everyone was singing the birthday song for her. =)

    IMG_1194

A few of the 15k crowd that brave the rain and sing Yuna a birthday song.

    IMG_1205

The moment ive been waiting for, FAIZAL TAHIR!

    IMG_1216

Faizal Tahir is the singer/songwriter who is also the Runner Up of OAIM. He was second to Suki who was the champion. Honestly, Faizal is better than Suki. And the reason why is that, Faizal is much more talented and he rock hard and fast.

    IMG_1218

Throughout his performance, the fans are asking him to take off his shirt like what he did last time. (Superman and PAS : hint hint )

Everyone was laughing their ass off when the fans chanted tanggal baju. LOL

    IMG_1246

Nevertheless, Faizal still live up to his name as a rocker. He did the rendition of Ghost Busters, Alient Ant Farm’s Smooth Criminal and a few more including his number 1 hit single. He got the super wet fans pumped up with his husky voice and got the fans to rock hard.

    <3.

    Faizal Tahir and me!

Next on the list was ESTRANGED

    IMG_1277

As usual, who dont know this Rock Band that got us rocking to Itu Kamu?

They were performing when the rain is super heavy but still the crowd was moshing throughout their performance. Reall awesome fans

    IMG_1280

    IMG_1265

Thats how heavy to rain is.

    IMG_1273

The last performance i caught, was MR. President! with FLIZZOW DOLLAR babeh!

    SAY, KARTELLO HELLO!

    IMG_1344

For some reason, I don’t know why Joe is wearing that blue outfit. It sucks!

    IMG_1320

    yea baby! Flizzow Dollar.

Next up was BunkFace, but i got to go already, so whatever was next i missed it. I bumped into Lapsap and Ed Banger anyway. Oh yeah im freaking bored of watching Joe performed. I’ve watched him perform 5 times this year.. sigh why?

I’ve not watch Bunkface perform live……. WHY?!

Anyway, FLY FM FLYniversarry was damn awesome. From the free flow of booze to the scrumptious TGIF meal and of cuz the awesome line up of artist, celebrating FLY FM’s anniversary was nothing better than this. IT WAS AWESOME.

The crowd made it even better. Imagine all of them stand under the rain just to catch their fav artist and DJ’s on stage. Keep up the good work and i hope next year will be another mind blasting anniversary again!

M.C Asia Behind The Music 2

November 23rd, 2009, posted in Events, Music, Random rants, Shennanigans

Thanks to Caryn, i was invited to a DJ Workshop entitled M.C Asia Behind The Music @ Royale Chulan. I almost run out of petrol trying to get my ass there. As you’ve read the post before this, M.C Asia is a series of DJ workshop that will guide participants to get their ass up in the dance music industry. Specifically aimed at Asians, this workshop really benefits me in every way. =)

Enough of pictures, lets get down to DJ-ing. As you guys know, (well only some of you la.) im into mixing music. And this platform is a great opportunity to dig as many information as possible from the industry’s veteran. DJ Blastique and Gabriel was warming the house up with host Daniel Jones getting us hyped.

    IMG_0852

    DJ Blastique

Through out the whole session, both DJ’s were explaining to us different style of mixing. DJ Gabriel is an old skool freak, preferring to lay his hands on CDJ’s and Vinyl while Balastique is equip with his MAC, Midi Controller and Mixer. ( Laptop DJ )

Both DJ’s were showing us what can be done with Laptop DJ and CDJ. Well to be honest, i think CDJ has a wide load of functionalities but are limited to a few at one time. For example, the effects such as flanger and brake and etc, you can have them played at the same time. Nevertheless, you look cool mixing in CDJ’s. =p

Laptop DJ functions has more and are only limited to where your imagination can bring you. You can cue lotsa clips of audio from your current song on the fly, you can have many effects craving through your mix, on the fly too, and tons of other stuff.

I took this opportunity to shoot as many ques as i can to Gabriel as i have problems with beat matching and BPMs. LOL. i cant beat match perfectly on R&B.
