Sarcasm is the way to go

April 30th, 2009, posted in Random rants, Shennanigans

These days moarrrrrrrrr and moarrrrrrrrrrr people are going for sarcasm. Like hello, don’t they have anything else to use when they actually speak? From my freaking business lecturer to inniters and of course my all time favorite, Christine Lim who has a fetish on sarcastic remarks. xD

Well, to me sarcastic remarks is awesome if that person is annoying. Hell out of an annoying ass. And when you actually use that, its actually hilarious to watch that the victim do not realize he/she is being feast with sarcasm and continue ‘defending’ his/her statement.

For example, there is one blogger that annoys a guy to the max and as usual sarcastic remarks are his weapon. We were chatting in this blog community website and he was bombarded with sarcasm for all over. What amuse me is that he doesn’t get the hint and continue talking as if  it is a normal conversation.

Heres the example

Victim : “ Hey thanks man, because of you i get 1 milion hits per day”. Let me repay you by spending you for lunch”

Prey: “Oh no need man. You deserve it. After all you are famous. Even i dont get a thousand hits, you get a million. Man, you are really famous”

Victim: “Why not? You did something for me mar, i wanna repay you, wrong meh?”

Prey: “Nono, its not wrong. But you earn  it yourself. You are famous. I don’t get a million hits that day. Not even half of it. Congratzzzz!!”

Haha. Note that sarcasm. xD and note how he doesn’t get the hint. Its a real life conversation happened in that blog community site.

Even my business management lecturer is sarcastic. He was away for National Service for the weekend and when he return every sentence he uttered is pure sarcasm!

He related to us about the need of being sarcastic to counter the bad ass kids in the Camp.

He says if he is not sarcastic, no one will ever listen to him.

I lol’ed.

Here’s an example of his live bullet :

“ The National Service kids are really a good future generation of leaders. Aiseh man, they are a very discipline student and listen to what the KJ ( Ketua Jurulatih) says. Infact one of the student were so good that they took a stone and hit a guys head till it bleeds. “

“ The food there were fantastic. I can give our college cafe an A star if compare to the NS food. Morning chicken, afternoon chicken, night chicken”

There’s actually more, but i forget. But you’ll get an idea of how sarcastic he is.

I think that sarcasm is just awesome.. with a capital A. He made all of us speechless and blur yesterday when we utter just one word.

The point here is sarcasm is a new way to counter annoying people or attitude problem asses. What all of us will do is to start practicing sarcasm. Once you get the hang of it, it will be your best weapon to actually say “Fuck Off” in a nicer way. xD

Yes as the title explain, this 21 year old R&B kid certainly brought the roof down @ Upstairs, The Loft.

FYI I am a loyal local act supporter and i am his number 1 fan. When he releases his first single, Dem Girlz I instantly fall in love with him. Damn it, you rock Caprice.

He mesmerized the crowd with his latest hit single Fantasy Girl, the remix of Akon’s NaNa and of course his all time fan favorite Dem Girlz.

*I dont know who is this, perhaps his back up singer? Enlighten me if you happen to know*

Overall, this is my first time i am at Hennessy Artistry so i don’t really know how it is suppose to be like. But overall the whole thing was ok. It was dull because they stop the booze at 11.30 which dampen our spirit. Urgh. But i enjoy every moment of it from Caprice to Starz Angel.

Starz Angel keep playing techno and trance which is quite a turn of if it is repeating for the last 3 hours. They should add a lil R&B twist.

But again, this event is a success. It definitely allow me to meet Caprice yo.

Thanks Nuffnang for the invites. Like i said, I proud to serve you.

Kudos to Hennessy!

Cant wait for the big one in June! YAY!

The world hunger problem: Facts, figures and statistics

  • In the Asian, African and Latin American countries, well over 500 million people are living in what the World Bank has called “absolute poverty”
  • Every year 15 million children die of hunger
  • For the price of one missile, a school full of hungry children could eat lunch every day for 5 years
  • Throughout the 1990’s more than 100 million children will die from illness and starvation. Those 100 million deaths could be prevented for the price of ten Stealth bombers, or what the world spends on its military in two days!
  • The World Health Organization estimates that one-third of the world is well-fed, one-third is under-fed one-third is starving- Since you’ve entered this site at least 200 people have died of starvation. Over 4 million will die this year.
  • One in twelve people worldwide is malnourished, including 160 million children under the age of 5. United Nations Food and Agriculture
  • The Indian subcontinent has nearly half the world’s hungry people. Africa and the rest of Asia together have approximately 40%, and the remaining hungry people are found in Latin America and other parts of the world. Hunger in Global Economy
  • Nearly one in four people, 1.3 billion – a majority of humanity – live on less than $1 per day, while the world’s 358 billionaires have assets exceeding the combined annual incomes of countries with 45 percent of the world’s people. UNICEF
  • 3 billion people in the world today struggle to survive on US$2/day. source : http://filipspagnoli.files.wordpress.com/2008/11/hunger.jpg
  • In 1994 the Urban Institute in Washington DC estimated that one out of 6 elderly people in the U.S. has an inadequate diet.
  • In the U.S. hunger and race are related. In 1991 46% of African-American children were chronically hungry, and 40% of Latino children were chronically hungry compared to 16% of white children.
  • The infant mortality rate is closely linked to inadequate nutrition among pregnant women. The U.S. ranks 23rd among industrial nations in infant mortality. African-American infants die at nearly twice the rate of white infants.
  • One out of every eight children under the age of twelve in the U.S. goes to bed hungry every night.
  • Half of all children under five years of age in South Asia and one third of those in sub-Saharan Africa are malnourished.
  • In 1997 alone, the lives of at least 300,000 young children were saved by vitamin A supplementation programmes in developing countries.
  • Malnutrition is implicated in more than half of all child deaths worldwide – a proportion unmatched by any infectious disease since the Black Death
  • About 183 million children weigh less than they should for their age
  • To satisfy the world’s sanitation and food requirements would cost only US$13 billion- what the people of the United States and the European Union spend on perfume each year.
  • The assets of the world’s three richest men are more than the combined GNP of all the least developed countries on the planet.
  • Every 3.6 seconds someone dies of hunger
  • It is estimated that some 800 million people in the world suffer from hunger and malnutrition, about 100 times as many as those who actually die from it each year.

Everyday people die of hunger. And yet we human, the fortunate asses, still waste food and water. How many of us actually finishes all of our food without wasting? I bet most of you don’t.

Especially in the Africa Continent, hunger has always been a major problem for the people there. Kids are suffering due to lack of nutrition’s and people are dying each day.

As a concern citizen of the Earth wha t have we done about it? What have we done to save this poverty stricken community? Other than just watching them dying, have you thought of actually helping them? Buying them food, livestock and pulling them out of their poverty ?

On 29th of March, let us all take a moment of and think of their suffering and reflect. And ask yourself, how can i help them?

You can also join the world to fast on this day to mark that we all still care for the poor.

Bloggers please help spread the words and create an awareness on this poverty stricken community. Lets us make a difference!
